My name is Ivy Walker and I am a pilot in the United States Army. There is a World War going on and my country remains neutral. This means we have not taken any side in the war.
Being at war was not an easy job. You saw a lot of heartbreaking stuff. Some of my best friends I have made were killed. I remember spending Christmas fighting in the war. I was really cold but I didnt give up. Once I knew that the war was over I was so happy to go back home and see my family again! Like I said before fighting in the war was NOT easy but knowing you are serving your country is one of the most amazing feelings I have ever experienced. Knowing that I saved lives was a great feeling to have. I will never forget that feeling ever! But getting back to the "normal" life was not as easy as it sounds. It took almost a year for me to not look behind my back every 5 seconds. I also had a hard time with little things thrown on the streets because I thought it was a bomb. I also lost some of my hearing in my right ear. It is still hard to go on in life without the friends you lost in war but they didn't die in vain and I will always remember that.

[I was off to war] I carried this picture of my family around with me in the war because i didn't know the last time i would ever see theri faces again. So to me seeing a picture of them was close enough to the real thing.
